Vortex tube is the secret within each adjustable spot cooler. It is a tool that has no parts inside, and that forces air in a whirlpool motion. This, in turn, pushes out the hot particles from the cold. Two air streams, then, assume separate directions, going out at different ends of the tube. By simply adding a knob at the hot end of the tube, the amount of hot stream that escapes can be controlled, so that the temperature of the cold stream that exits at the other end can be adjusted at desired degrees.
To make sure that the adjustable spot cooler delivers peak performance, installation and condition of the area are two important factors. First, for the unit to properly function as a coolant, a distance of 0.5 inches from the target area is most ideal. Single-point hose cooler is usually sufficient to cover small target areas, but for larger spots, a two-point hose spot cooler is most advisable. In case of assembly environments in high heat, it is best to generate and filter air supply from the outside. Ducting the spot cooler for this purpose can be done with ease and in the least amount of time.
The amount of compressed air used may be increased by changing into a higher-capacity generator. A 15 SCFM generator is installed by default in an adjustable spot cooler, but it can be converted using 25 or 30 SCFM generators. Although, moving to a higher capacity generator may entail upgrading the size of the pipelines, so as to avoid flow and pressure restriction that can affect the performance of the adjustable spot cooler. Installation of water and oil filters with drainage is one of the ways to keep it running smoothly. Such additions to it make it a point that the air supplied into the system is free of contaminants.
